PJM drops Oklo advanced nuclear project from interconnection study cycle

Oklo has another permitting application denied for lack of information – this one by PJM.

Oklo is appealing to FERC. The matter includes a clearer picture of what Oklo is planning under its power deal for a Meta data center in Ohio:

  • 150 MW of nuclear (evidently, comprised of two of its now-75 MW reactors)
  • 300 MW of fuel cells
  • 300 MW of gas generation

This is a far cry from the 1.2 GW of nuclear generation Oklo said the deal involved early this year. And it begs the question of how the fuel cells are going to be powered (perhaps with H2 produced from methane, or operated as a storage system using electricity generated by the other sources?).
