ACTUAL AND LAST UPDATE | Press Release: Epstein Appeals the Renaming of Three Mile Island Unit-1 at the NRC, (May 30 2025). (Appeal enclosed)

Eric Epstein filed an appeal with Nuclear Regulatory
Commission to stop the renaming of There Mile Island.

Mr. Epstein said, “The name change is not about
remembering. It’s about forgetting. Changing the
name is about creating a false narrative and erasing
    history.”

The name change is intended to honor Chris Crane, the former
CEO of Exelon, who presided over a massive nuclear corruption
scheme resulting in a $200 million fine.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s view of  the name change
is in conflict with Secretary Stafford’s position. The Secretary
dismissed Mr. Epstein’s Petition “…particularly in light of the
wholly  administrative nature of the lines request.” (Order, p.2).

Mr. Epstein noted, "If the Commission believes a name change
is of  a 'wholly administrative nature’ then why was the name of
the Atomic Energy Commission changed to the Nuclear Regulatory
Commission? The Atomic Energy Commission sought to remake
it’s image due to concerns about conflicts of interest. TMI wants
to change its name to rewrite  history, and present the meltdown
in a green light.”

Epstein concluded, “The name change being proposed by
Three Island is no different than The NRC's makeover in
1974  - the same year TMI came on line. It’s a cyclical attempt
to establish a fictional narrative divorced from past misdeeds. "
